The house was supported on trestles while the bessa-block walls and timber framing were erected

Steel beams were already in place waiting for the walls and posts to support them.

The house was out of square diagonally by nearly 40 mm so I used this giant turn-buckle and some chains welded to reo steel and pulled it to within 5 mm. I bought the turn-buckle at a swap meet for no reason, just because I liked it, and never really expected to use it..
