I am researching the Stanton family as my GGgrandmother was Ann Stanton, Mary's sister. We know that their father was Joseph Stanton and mother Mary Cave I was hoping you would be able to enlighten me on the birth date and place for both Mary & Joseph I have a copy of their marriage certificate but it is of poor quality (maybe a copy, of a copy, of a copy etc.) so can't make out where they were from and in 1819 not much info was forthcoming anyway. I have attached a descendants report of Joseph Stanton hope it is of some use to you.

The Stanton name lives on still as there was, until recently, a Stanton Walter Muston in Canada, one of her great grandsons, and his father before him was Walter Stanton Muston.
It interests me that Joseph Stanton with was probably in Western Australia with some of his children before his daughter Mary married John Muston in England in about 1841, so where was Mary Cave ?
This is a letter I received from Elixabeth Nathan (nee Stanton) in August 2012
"I have just been studying your excellent website relating to the Muston family, in Australia and elsewhere. I may be able to add another dimension to the Stanton part of the family. It seems at least possible that Joseph Stanton who travelled to WA in 1842 was an elder brother of my great great grandfather, Edward Walton Stanton, born in Birmingham St Martin in 1800, son of Thomas Stanton and his wife Sarah (probably Forrest). He was transported to New South Wales in 1822, married there in 1840 and sired a considerable family of Stantons, mostly sons. I have recorded them in a public tree on ancestry.com.au (Elizabeth Stanton family tree).
I was born Elizabeth Stanton, in Canberra, and spent my working life as an archivist, so I am fairly skilled at finding information. Frustrated by my failure to trace any Stanton ancestors beyond Thomas and Sarah, I recently bought the Birmingham St Martin parish records on DVD (they don't appear on ancestry.com!). So I can confirm that Edward Walton had several siblings, all born in Birmingham, among them Joseph Stanton, baptised there on 27 July 1796. I am still working my way through original parish records (by eye), hoping to find at least marriage records for Edward's siblings, but it also seems possible that the family originated out of Birmingham, or maybe moved out (Edward was convicted at the Gloucester Assizes in 1819).
The only relevant record I have found for Joseph Stanton on ancestry.com.au (the 1841 census) gives his estimated year of birth as 1787 and his place of birth as Warwickshire. This person is clearly your Joseph Stanton - a widower living in Wibtoft, Claybrooke, with two young daughters, Ann and Hester (sic), both born in Warwickshire and both shown as 10 years old. I found an entry in the same census for Comfort Stanton (wrongly transcribed on the website as Hunt) who seems to have been at 15 a domestic servant in Brownsover Lodge, Clifton upon Dunsmore, Warwickshire, and also the record of Mary Stanton's marriage to John Muston in 1842. It is not certain, however, that he is also my Joseph Stanton from Birmingham.
My research among other family trees suggests that Mary Cave died in 1840. What I have not found are official/parish records confirming births, deaths and marriages for Mary or her father Benjamin - although numerous Caves are recorded in Northamptonshire. I assume that much of your information comes from family sources - I have been certainly been pursuing family stories with the aim of authenticating them with official records. If you can provide me with any further clues to your sources, or have anything that might provide a secure link between your Stantons and mine, I would be very grateful.

It also surprises me that his grandson John Muston went to live on the East Coast of Australia, in Victoria, maybe he got off in Perth earlier and visited his grandmother and Uncles and Aunts.. Something else to put into the puzzle.

He is shown to have been a labourer in 1876, a teamster in 1878, a brewer,s carter in 1889 and became the licensee on "The Retreat" in Hay Street, later rebuilt as the Melbourne Hotel.
William died in Bunbury but it is not known why he was in that area at the time of his death.
Obviously his body was brought to Perth as he is buried in the East Perth CemeteryWilliam was born at 126 Regent Road Salford in the county of Lancashire

Samuel Hearle came to Western Australia in 1891 after the death of his first wife in England. He met and married Comfort Nicholls in Perth. After their marriage they lived in East Fremantle. Apparently Samuel entered the Mayoral race in Fremantle abt 1907 and after losing the election he took his family to the new government settlement in Yorkrakine where land was being sold cheaply. Although from a long line of Farmers Samuel was unable to farm the property profitably and the family returned to Perth. He took his own life while suffering from deep depression.Samuel Hearle came to Wa in 1891 after the death of his first wife in England. After marrying Comfort Nicholls they settled in East Fremantle. Samuel entered the Mayoral race in 1907 after loosing took his family to the government settlement of Yorkrakine. Although from a family of farmers he was unable to make a living and the familiy returned to Perth. He took his own life while suffering from depression.
